Our stringed instrument repair is done by our Master Luthier, Dan Atcheson. With over 50 years experience. We also have a luthier on staff. Below is a price list of common repairs, for everything else, feel free to stop by for a free estimate. We also offer amplifier and other electronic repairs.
Restring of any 6 or 7 string acoustic or electric guitars (that does not have a floating tremolo). Also includes ukuleles, banjos, or Dobros.
With every restring we polish the frets, condition the fret board, tighten all the the hardware, and do any truss rod adjustments that are necessary.
More involved and time consuming instruments. 8+ stringed instruments. Classical Guitars, Floyd Rose and other floating tremolo systems.
As the seasons change, so do our instruments. We do not charge for simple truss rod adjustments
An adjustment of the saddle, nut, neck angle, neck relief, intonation, polish frets, condition the fret board, etc. to make your instrument play the way YOU want it too.
Everything that goes into a set up, but on more time consuming and complicated instruments. Yes, that includes Floyd Rose and other floating tremolo systems.
This is the best way to take your instrument to the next level! upgrading to a bone nut and/or saddle will make a world of difference in your instrument. All nuts and saddles are custom made to your instrument to insure a proper fit and finish. Please understand that your instrument will need to be completely set up in addition to having the nut and saddle made.
Remove, prepare, install, and reset the guitar to play properly. Additional cost may incur is the bridge has to be replaced, or if there are loose braces inside.
Install pickups, check all solder joints, set pickup height on solid body guitars with top mounted pickups, or guitars with access panels.
Install Pickups in more time consuming and complicated instruments such as; hollow body electric guitars, acoustic guitars, or instruments that does not have an access panel. *Additional costs may incur on acoustic guitars depending on the pick up system, or instrument's set up*
Every job is different. Simple repairs may not cost you a dime. Most common repairs start at $25. Free estimates on larger jobs.
Secure, level, recrown, dress, polish all the frets on your instrument to make it play the way that it should. This is necessary on instruments that have fret divots from heavy play, or on instruments that have frets that are loose or have high frets. Instruments will always have to be set up after this process.
This may not be an option on every Instrument, but sometimes we can refrain from having to do a full fret dress and only level and dress a particular area of your fret board. Often times the instrument will need to be set up after this process.
Removal of old frets, planing of the fret board(if unfinished), installation of new frets, level, recrown, dress, polish, and set up of the instrument. There are many factors that affect the price of a re-fret. Free estimates and explanation will be provided before hand.
Free estimates are given on crack repairs, brace repair, or any other miscellaneous structural repair of your instrument.
We repair tons of broken headstocks, and every job is different. Free estimates will be given before hand.
FREE estimates and fast turn around time! Repairs are done on a FIRST COME FIRST SERVE basis. We ask that all repairs be picked up within 72 hours of completion as a courtesy to our business. Additional storage fees may incur on untimely retrieval of property. Property not picked up after 30 days of completion become property of Donley's Music if arrangements are not made before hand.
